diy bug spray recipe
when I tell you that this essential oil bug spray recipe is amazing… I really do mean it. I live in this bug spray in the summer. the best part is that it isn’t sticky like normal bug spray, and it actually smells good…so good that it almost smells like you are wearing perfume!
here’s what you need to make the recipe
preferably a glass spray bottle
but this continuous spray bottle works amazing*
add 10 drops of each oil into the bottle and then top it off with regular witch hazel. shake it and then spray!!
pro tip: make multiple spray bottles to grab on your way out the door this summer.
i keep our bug spray at the back door, as a visual reminder to put it on. this year i think i’ll make a second one to keep in our laundry room to throw in my bag when we head down to the river.
*it’s best practice to use glass when using essential oils, because the oils can break down the plastic over time. so, if you get the continuous spray bottle, i would empty out the contents at the end of the season to keep it from breaking down your bottle.
